In the last little while I have re-realized that my first priority during the day is my children. The goals I previously set for myself were a bit too ambitious to stay true to my priority. A revamping of goals is needed, and a re-focus during the day with my children as first priority, our household, then writing. That doesn't leave a whole lot of time, but I need to raise my boys, not just be there to make sure they don't burn the house down.
One aspect I would like to focus on during my condensed time, is critiquing stories and books others have written for children and young adults. I really enjoy discovering what's in a book, and I'm going to let you know what I find. I know it will be enjoyable for me, and hopefully it will be enjoyable for you and give me some insight on how to improve my own writing.
I'm excited about my tortoise approach! Thank you for traveling along with me!
Re-focus
Watch out children's literary world, here I come! I blog about lessons I learn while I write children's picture books and young adult novels. I've been doing a bit here and there for years when priorities allowed. I've recently been able to make larger time commitments, and I have a finished picture book that I'm preparing to attempt the publishing relm. My brain and journal hold so many more stories that are waiting to be hatched. I'll document tips, lessons and processes from conception through publishing (let's think positively, here), all on my blog for all to enjoy. What a beautiful adventure it is!
